Orders & payment

What payment methods do you accept? Secure card payments at checkout) and PayPal.

How will the transaction appear on my bank statement? All purchases appear as Cian's Bookshop PayPal payments may show as a PayPal transaction with the same trading name.

Can I reserve an item? Generally no. Most stock is one-of-a-kind, and if it's in your basket someone else can still buy it. Best to check out sharpish.

Do you offer trade or wholesale? Yes. Get in touch via the contact page with what you're after.

Discreet packaging

Is packaging discreet? Always. Every order ships in plain mailers with no branding, no images, no references to the contents. Outside it just looks like any other parcel.

Shipping

How much is shipping? Calculated at checkout based on your location and order weight.

Do you offer free shipping? Yes — UK orders over £50 ship free via Royal Mail Tracked 48.

Where do you ship to? UK and worldwide. International rates show at checkout.

How long does dispatch take? Orders go out within 1-2 working days.

How long does delivery take after dispatch?

UK Tracked 48: 2-3 working days
UK Tracked 24: 1-2 working days
International: 5-15 working days depending on destination

Do I get tracking? Yes if you choose a tracked service. Tracking number arrives by email when your order ships.

Condition & authenticity

Are items new or used? Almost everything is vintage or pre-owned. Minor age-related wear is normal and part of the charm. New stock (where available) is clearly labelled.

How is condition graded? Every item is honestly described. Notable flaws — tears, writing, missing pages, heavy creasing — are always disclosed. See the condition grading page for full detail.

Are the photos of the actual item? Yes. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, photos show the exact item you'll receive.
